Figur is an AI-powered quote engine that lives inside your monday.com deal view. This comprehensive guide will walk you through installation, setup, and creating your first quote.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
- monday.com Account - With permission to install apps from the marketplace
- Admin Access - Ability to install apps and manage board settings
- Deal/Project Board - At least one board with items representing deals or projects
- Board Permissions - Read and write access to your chosen board
- Modern Browser - Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge (latest versions)
Account Requirements
You need monday.com Pro plan or higher to install marketplace apps. Free plans may have limitations.
Step 1 — Install from the Marketplace
Finding Figur
- Go to the monday.com Marketplace
- Search for "Figur" or browse the Productivity category
- Click on the Figur app listing to view details
Installation Process
- Click Install - On the Figur marketplace listing
- OAuth Authorization - You'll be redirected to monday.com
- Grant Permissions - Approve the requested access permissions:
- Board Access - Read and write access to boards and items
- User Information - Basic user profile data
- Webhooks - For real-time updates and notifications
- Confirm Installation - Complete the installation process
Understanding Permissions
Figur requires these permissions to function:
- Read Boards - Access your board structure and items
- Write Items - Update quote data back to monday.com
- Manage Columns - Create quote-related columns if needed
- User Data - Personalize your experience and settings
Security
Figur only accesses data from boards you explicitly connect and never shares your data with third parties.
Step 2 — Complete the Onboarding Wizard
After installation, the onboarding wizard guides you through setup:
Board Selection
Choose the board where your deals or projects live — or let Figur create one for you:
Quick Setup (recommended)
Click Create Board Automatically and Figur will create a "Figur Deals" board with all required columns and five sample items pre-loaded. Column mapping is handled automatically, skipping you straight to brand configuration. This is the fastest way to get started.
Quick Setup is safe to retry
If the automatic setup is interrupted, click it again — Figur detects an existing board and reuses it instead of creating a duplicate.
Manual Board Selection
If you prefer to use an existing board, expand "Or choose an existing board":
- Browse your available boards
- Preview board structure and columns
- Select the primary board for quotes
- Confirm selection
Column Mapping
Map monday.com columns to Figur quote data:
Required Columns
- Quote Total (One-Time) - One-time project costs
- Monthly Total - Recurring monthly charges
- Quote Status - Current quote state (Draft, Sent, Approved, etc.)
- Services Included - List of services in the quote
- Quoted At - Date quote was generated
Mapping Options
- Create New Columns - Let Figur create standard columns
- Map Existing Columns - Use your existing column structure
- Custom Names - Use your preferred column names
Column Types
Figur works with most column types including text, number, status, and dropdown columns.
Brand Configuration
Set up your brand identity for professional quotes:
Logo Upload
- Upload your company logo (PNG, SVG, or JPG)
- Recommended size: 400x100 pixels
- Transparent background preferred
Brand Colors
- Primary color for headers and accents
- Secondary color for panels and backgrounds
- Accent color for CTAs and highlights
- Text color for readability

- Company name and address

Pricing Configuration
Override default pricing for each enabled service. Each service has preset pricing primitives (base price, per-unit rates, add-ons, percentages, etc.) that you can customize:
- Select a Service - Use the service tabs at the top to switch between services
- Review Defaults - Each pricing primitive shows the preset default value below it
- Override Values - Enter a custom value to override any primitive. The input border turns green when you've set a custom value.
- Reset - Click the reset icon next to any override to revert to the default
AI adjustments happen on top
Your overrides set the deterministic base price. The AI pricing engine applies its adjustments on top of these values based on discovery answers.
AI Pricing Advisor (Starter plan and above)
If you have a Starter plan or higher, the AI Pricing Advisor will automatically analyze your overrides and flag potential issues — for example, a base price that's significantly above or below market norms. Warnings appear inline after a short delay.
Discovery Question Configuration
Control which discovery questions are shown to users during the quoting flow:
- Select a Service - Switch between enabled services using the tabs
- Review Questions - Questions are listed in the order a user encounters them, with badges indicating type (Text, Number, Single Select, etc.) and importance
- Toggle Visibility - Click the eye icon to show or hide a question. Hidden questions are skipped during discovery.
- Check Dependencies - Questions marked "Affects Pricing" feed into pricing calculations. Hiding them may reduce quote accuracy. "Required" questions cannot be skipped without impact.
Pricing-linked questions
Hiding a question tagged Affects Pricing removes data the pricing engine depends on. The engine will fall back to defaults, which may produce less accurate quotes.
Review and Publish
Review your configuration before going live:
Validation Checklist
The publish step runs four checks before you can go live:
- Board selected
- Columns mapped (at least 2)
- Company name set
- Services enabled (at least 1)
All four must pass before the Publish button activates.
Test Quote
Click Test Quote to generate a sample quote using your current configuration. This lets you verify that pricing, services, and branding look correct before publishing to your team.
Go Live
Click Publish to save all settings and activate Figur on your connected board. After publishing:
- Your board is ready for quoting
- Team members can open any item and use the Figur view
- If you're inside monday.com, the setup modal will close automatically
Step 3 — Create Your First Quote
Access the Item View
- Navigate to your connected monday.com board
- Click on any item (deal/project)
- In the item view panel, find and click Figur
- The Figur interface will load with the item context

Choose services for your quote:
- Browse Services - View available service types
- Select Services - Click one or more services
- Multiple Selection - Choose multiple services if needed
- Continue - Proceed to discovery questions

Answer service-specific questions:
- Web Design Questions - Site type, pages, design complexity
- SEO Questions - Current status, goals, target keywords
- PPC Questions - Platforms, budget, targeting
- Social Media Questions - Platforms, posting frequency, goals

Detailed answers to discovery questions result in more accurate quotes. Include project constraints, budget limits, and special requirements.
Step 4 — Generate and Export Your Quote
Quote Generation
- Complete Discovery - Answer all questions for selected services
- Generate Quote - Click the Generate Quote button
- AI Processing - Figur analyzes your answers and creates pricing
- Review Results - Check the generated quote and pricing
Quote Review and Adjustment
Before finalizing:
- Review Services - Check included services and pricing
- Adjust Pricing - Toggle individual services up/down by 10%
- Add Comments - Include notes for client or internal team
- Validate Totals - Ensure totals look correct
Export to monday.com
- Finalize & Export - Write quote data back to monday.com
- Column Updates - Automatic updates to mapped columns
- Status Change - Quote status updates to "Finalized"
- Success Confirmation - Verify data was written correctly
